Dr. Teresa DeFrancesco DVM, DACVIM(Cardiology), DACVECC
Dr. DeFrancesco is presently a professor in Cardiology and Critical Care at the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University.
She is also the Assistant Department Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences, the Chief of Specialty Services Section and a member of the Hospital Board at NCSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Francesco completed a residency in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at NCSU and also a residency in Cardiology at NCSU.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards including the Bayer Health Small Animal Clinician of the Year Award in 2013, the Sui Stolzer White Coat of Excellence award in 2011 and the NCVMA NCSUVTH Clinician of The Year Award in 2008.
Dr. DeFrancesco’s areas of interest include the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure in dogs and cats; point of care ultrasound for the diagnosis of heart failure; diagnosis, serial monitoring and treatment of early cardiac disease; arrhythmia management and pacemaker therapy for symptomatic bradycardias.
